The first-ever Afro Game Showcase is on!
The Afro Game Showcase is a curated online showcase dedicated to African and Afro-diasporic video games. Hosted by Narratify and presented live on YouTube on June 25, 2026, the inaugural edition brought together 20+ games from 13 countries, spanning Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Morocco, Madagascar, Brazil, Jamaica, and more. The full show is available to watch on YouTube and so is the list of Steam games you can wishlist.
A New Major Event to Address a Global Visibility Gap
Born from a clear reality check, the near-total lack of international visibility for African game development despite a booming local market—the Afro Game Showcase is designed to bridge the gap between talented developers, global players, and industry stakeholders.
"Talented African developers are creating incredible games, often while overcoming major technical hurdles, such as limited access to devkits from major console platforms," explains Jennifer Lufau, co-founder of Narratify. "The Afro Game Showcase is our answer to breaking down these barriers, giving international exposure to these studios, and proving the maturity of this ecosystem." - Jennifer Lufau, co-founder of Narratify.
On the Agenda : Action, Adventure, and Developer Insights
Co-hosted in French and English by Jennifer Lufau and Mickaël Newton, the Afro Game Showcase was built to give African and Afro-diasporic studios a global stage they rarely get access to. Every game was hand-picked for its cultural resonance, production quality, and storytelling ambition:
- Curated Lineup: Premiere trailers for over 20 highly anticipated games across multiple genres (action-adventure, family games, puzzles) coming soon to Steam and mobile platforms, selected from over 75 global submissions.
- Developer Spotlights: Exclusive interviews with creators from the continent and the diaspora (Kenya, Nigeria, Brazil, France…), sharing stories of their development journeys.
- Bi-annual Format: A long-term commitment to establishing this showcase as a recurring event, running twice a year to keep the global industry updated on the region’s release calendar.
“The Afro Game Showcase is our launchpad to scale up and reveal the full scope of what these studios can do.," adds Mickaël Newton.
The full show is available to watch on YouTube.
