PR & Marketing Support for Nyamakop
Relooted, an impactful South African video game centered on the repatriation of stolen African artwork, needed a strategic entry into France—a country deeply intertwined with the theme of cultural restitution. The goal was to move beyond traditional game marketing and establish the title as a legitimate medium for collective memory and cultural mediation.

Our Strategy & Objectives
Narratify designed a 3-day hybrid activation in Paris at MansA (Maison des mondes africains) to bridge the gap between digital gaming, historical education, and Afro-descendant communities.
- Positioning: Redefine the video game as an interactive "Third Place" for cultural transmission.
- Target Audience: Connect the technical gaming community, cultural journalists, and multigenerational families.
Operational Breakdown (The 3-Day Activation)
Day 1: Press & Industry Authority
- Media Launch: Hosted a dedicated press conference introducing the studio's creator to French tech and cultural journalists to secure initial media coverage.
- Knowledge Transfer: Organized an exclusive Masterclass led by the game's Narrative Director, breaking down the technical process of translating heavy colonial history into engaging gameplay mechanics.

Day 2: Immersive Launch Night & Community Engagement
- Intellectual Framing: Facilitated a panel discussion on the real-world cultural impact of Relooted and the modern stakes of artifact restitution.
- Live 'Playformance': Teamed up with prominent gaming streamers who played the game live in front of the audience, transforming a solo gaming experience into a shared, spectated event.
- Socio-Cultural Elements: Surprised attendees with a live cosplay performance of the game's protagonist, curated a DJ set featuring the game's soundtrack, and integrated a branded digital photo booth.
- Physical-Digital Exhibition: Designed a curated wall exhibition juxtaposing real-world historical artifacts with their in-game 3D models, detailing their exact origins.

Day 3: Public Intergenerational Testing
- Community Access: Opened the doors of MansA to the general public for a full day of hands-on testing.
- The Intergenerational Bridge: Successfully engaged families, creating an environment where tech-savvy children taught their parents and grandparents how to play, which naturally sparked deep, spontaneous family dialogues about their own cultural heritage and history.
Through this operation, Narratify demonstrated its unique ability to take complex, sensitive cultural themes and translate them into highly engaging, logistically seamless, and emotionally resonant hybrid experiences.
Nyamakop’s testimony:
Working with Narratify on Relooted was an absolute blessing. Jennifer and Mickaël combine their experience working at the peaks of game development and apply it to the indie scale with nuance, smarts, and endless passion. If you can work with them, you definitely should!
